All About Me!

Hi! My name is Cassidy, and I am a versatile artist, composer, musician and producer. I have just completed my fourth and final year at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney, studying a Bachelor of Music - Composition for Creative Industries. Coming from a very musical family, I have been playing the piano and saxophone as well as singing from a very young age. Over the last few years I have been expanding my musical abilities through picking up the guitar and composing for larger ensembles. I am also an emerging artist producing my own music for all streaming services under my own name – Cassidy Watts. I personally find it hard to put myself into a singular genre when describing my style of music as I am always open to experimentation. Despite this, my go to answer - chill, singer/songwriter vibes basically cover it. Incorporating orchestral and electroacoustic elements to animation for both film and tv intrigues me most, having the responsibility to create a whole new world that might not have been heard before. My influences lie greatly on John Powell’s soundtrack for 'How to Train Your Dragon' as well as 'Kung Fu Panda' (which was co-composed with Hans Zimmer). Similar to these soundscapes, I love creating ambient atmospheres that showcases mesmerising melodies whilst working with unusual harmony structures.
